CNIC Verification through SMS  (7000)

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in collaboration with mobile phone companies launched a service for the instant verification of identity cards via sending of the CNIC number through an SMS. SMS containing the CNIC number could be sent on 7000 using a mobile phone, thus enabling the sender to get the name and father's name of that particular CNIC number. At the moment this service is available for Mobilink, Telenor and Warid customers while Ufone and Zong are in process to get listed.

SIM Information System (668)

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has developed a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) information system to address associated risks of security and to ensure subscription regulations in cellular sector. In order to find out the total number of mobile SIMs registered against a CNIC, send the CNIC number to 668 through SMS. In response, you will get the detail of total SIMs against the given CNIC along with the name of the mobile company. In case, there is any discrepancy, the user should visit the concerned customer service center to get the data corrected.

SIM Ownership Verification (667)

The process to get a new SIM has undergone many changes. The franchises are following the PTA guidelines strictly as well. You need to provide the original CNIC to get a SIM. The franchises are connected online (and via their mobile phones) to NADRA systems to verify the CNIC. Individuals can send a blank message to 667 to verify their ownership. The response includes the name of the person and the NIC number. If you just purchased a new SIM then the data is not available for a few days and you will get a message with unknown name and 1111 as CNIC.
